We aim to uncover the fundamental mechanisms governing ultralow lattice thermal conductivity in filled \u03b2-Mn-type phases, argyrodites, Cr<sub>3<\/sub>Si-type compounds and Nowotny Chimney Ladder (NCL) phases.<\/p><p>A key aspect of our work is understanding how bonding inhomogeneity, cation disorder, and liquid-like behavior of cations influence thermal transport. By integrating crystal chemistry with thermoelectric property optimization, we develop novel materials with high <em>ZT<\/em> values, advancing sustainable energy conversion technologies.<\/p><p>Currently, we are working on the synthesis, structural characterization, and investigation of the relationship between crystal-chemical and thermoelectric properties in filled Cr<sub>3<\/sub>Si-type compounds and Nowotny Chimney Ladder phases. Additionally, we are focusing on improving the chemical and thermal stability of argyrodite-type materials to enhance their suitability for thermoelectric module fabrication.<\/p><p>Our multidisciplinary approach combines materials science, solid-state chemistry, and physics, employing advanced synthesis, structural characterization, and theoretical modeling.
